PAUL & RATNA

There could be no better place for Ratna and Paul to meet than on a sailing holiday in the Caribbean. They have now been married for close to 10 years. Keen travelers, they have seized every opportunity to go sailing in most parts of the world, including the Mediterranean, North and South Atlantic, Indian Ocean, South China sea and the beloved Caribbean waters. Having worked for many years in the IT industry, they decided to turn their passion for sailing into a way of life, and Spice and Soul was born in 2004.

Born in Malaysia, Ratna was brought up in a boarding school in the UK. Ratna holds diplomas in music and catering. Having lived in various countries during her childhood and worked in the family restaurant business, Ratna has developed a love of good food from all over the world and has a passion for meeting and entertaining people. Ratna caught the sailing bug later on in her life and has obtained the RYA day skipper license.

A British national, Paul has lived in France, Belgium, Germany and Singapore and holds a master of science degree in physics and a diploma in marketing. He has been sailing for as long as he can remember, starting off with the family sailing dinghy, and gradually moving on to larger yachts. A water sports fanatic, Paul is a PADI certified scuba diver and is a qualified skipper to the RYA yachtmaster standard.
